Fishing and Hunting
The culture fishing and hunting in Baffin Bay differ greatly between Western and Indigenous cultures. While whaling was common amongst Western people, it was done so for the purpose of profit - where all valuable parts of the whale were taken and sold. Inuit culture has a much more sustainable approach, only taking what is needed and making sure to preserve catch using traditional knowledge. This portion of the exhibition seeks to showcase the differences between the two communities and how they utilise fish and other sea creatures - an important resource of Baffin Bay.
