A Voice Heard

Writing for The Dartmouth:

Herschel Johnson '70, a friend and classmate of Wallace's, inspired him to pursue his passion for the creative arts. Having started an acting career in New York, Mr. Ford propelled himself towards writing for the institution's oldest campus newspaper, The Dartmouth. Not only did his poetry get published in a house collection of Black poets at nineteen-years old, but he also published two novels and started an online column, "Point of View" in his adult career. Below are a few of his writings, including discussions of the Black Arts Festival and Cecil Taylor, one of the most crucial pioneers of jazz.
