The Black Dartmouth Experience of Kenneth Marable: An Oral History
During the post-civil rights era, Kenneth Marable decide to apply to Dartmouth College as member of the class 1974, joining the Dartmouth community and contributing to its diversity. Marable is originally from the small town of Tuckahoe, New York. He was a football star during his high school years and decided to join the football team for his first two years at Dartmouth. He also formed relationships with other Black students and had major engagement with the Afro-American Society after his graduation. He continuously describes his Dartmouth experience to be a middle ground for him and his background.
