“I wasn’t college material”: Dr. Ife Landsmark’s Path to Higher Education (Molly Rudman '23, Fall '22)
This digital exhibit examines Dr. Ife Landsmark's path to higher education amidst desegregation and co-education, and explores the themes of mentorship, othering, trailblazing, and mental health. Although Landsmark “was told by the nuns at [her high school] graduation that [she] wasn't college material, she attended York College, Dartmouth College, and Columbia University. Today, Landsmark “provides continuing and comprehensive mental and behavioral health care for individuals and families” as a clinical psychologist in Staten Island, New York (Health Providers Data 2022).
