This is an excerpt from a narrative written by Al Lee for the Dartmouth Korean American Forum. The text reads: "'September 28, 1950. Everyone was really happy. Father had come back. The Marines had taken Seoul. Everyone was out on the streets. There was dancing and singing. Freedom was back. The country would unite forever. He spoke as if he came upon a lost treasure in the vast chest of his memories. He gazed at it, as it slowly faded away."
