Responses to Anti-Asian Racism
This section examines both the student mobilization that occurred in response to anti-Asian hate at Dartmouth, as well as institutional responses. These responses illustrate the contrast between administrative and student reactions, and how students have often been fighting for the same issues throughout Dartmouth’s history.
Institutional Responses
Responses from the College usually come in the form of emails sent to the entirety of campus, which express condolences and link resources for students to find support networks. In addition, the Dartmouth News Weekly usually reports on events that are directly linked to institutional administration, such as diversity initiatives or new student wellness programs.
Below are examples of emails and articles students get about instances of racism on campus.
