Title
Libertad de Expresión (1968)
Description
This flyer, designed and printed by the students of the Academy of San Carlos during the student movement of 1968, was made from a cliché provided by Adolfo Mexiac, who at that time was a teacher at this school. The artist's iconic image of a silenced Tzotzil Indian in chains was created in 1954 to protest the coup in Guatemala that year. Later, the image was used by the railway movement, by the teachers' movement and finally, by the student movement of 1968.
